Out of School Hours Sports
Paringa Park Primary School provides opportunities for students to be involved in Out of School Hours Sports during the year. The purpose is to provide a fun and safe environment for children to participate in and learn the sport/s of their choice. Children of all skill levels and experiences are encouraged to play school sports.
Our Out of School Hours Sports are facilitated by parent volunteers and we welcome interest from all parents to get involved. Speak to front office staff if you are interested.
The following sports will be offered in summer season (terms 1&4):
- Basketball
- Cricket
- Kanga Cricket
- Volleyball
The following sports will be offered in winter season (terms 2 & 3):
- Basketball
- Football
- Netball
- Soccer
- Volleyball
Nomination forms will be sent to all parents/caregivers of students prior to the commencement of each season. Nominations must be received by the designated cut-off date; late nominations are at the discretion of coordinators and will only be accepted where vacancies exist on teams. Sports will only go ahead if there is a coordinator and enough coaches/managers for all teams.
Sports Information
Basketball
Reception – Year 6
2024 Fee $110 per season
Summer season – terms 1 & 4
Winter season – terms 2 & 3
Games are played on Mon-Fri afternoons at Marion Stadium, Mitchell Park & Springbank Stadium, with the day depending on year level. Times of games range from 3:45pm until 6:30pm.
Players don’t need to have any level of experience to play. Training sessions may be provided before or after school depending on gym and coach availability. Playing top provided, players to wear own navy blue shorts.

Cricket
Year 2 – Year 6
2024 Fee $50
Cricket is played in terms 1 and 4. All equipment (bats, pads, balls, helmets etc) is provided.
Kanga Cricket
Year 2 Kanga Cricket – Saturday mornings 8:30am at Marion Oval
Year 3 Kanga Cricket – Saturday mornings 9:45am at Marion Oval
Wear own school top and shorts. All equipment provided by Adelaide Strikers.
Cricket
Teams will practice based on the availability of the coach.
A Grade – year 5/6 experienced players. Saturdays 8:30am-11:30am at local schools. Wear own cricket whites
B Grade – year 5/6 Saturdays 8:30am-11:30am at local schools. Wear own cricket whites
C Grade – year 4/5 Thursdays 4:00pm-6:00pm at local schools. Wear own school top and shorts

Football
Year 2-6
2024 Fee $75
Football is played in terms 2 & 3
No prior experience required, however it is highly recommended that younger students have completed a season of Auskick to give them a good sense of the basics.
Games are played Thursday afternoons at Seaview High School or Saturday mornings at West Beach. Playing top provided, players to wear own navy football shorts and gold/green hoop socks.

Netball
Year 3 to Year 6 students
2024 Fee $75
Netball is played in terms 2 & 3
This netball competition is available to all levels of experience in playing netball. The uniform is the student’s own school polo top and shorts/skort. Players are expected to commit to weekly games and practice sessions (day and time will be determined by the coach/manager).

Soccer
Reception to Year 6
2024 Fee $75
Soccer is played in terms 2 & 3
No prior experience or knowledge is required – the children will learn as they train and play.
Games played at West Lakes Shore Sporting Complex on Saturdays between 8:30am-12:30pm. A loan jersey will be provided by the school but students must provide their own navy shorts, socks, boots, and shin guards.

Volleyball
Year 4 to Year 6
2024 Fee $110 per season
Summer season – terms 1 & 4
Winter season – terms 2 & 3
Volleyball is open to students of all levels of experience. The competition is run by Volleyball SA with games played at Brighton Secondary School on Fridays after school on the indoor courts or outdoor sand courts, depending on year level. Training sessions may be provided before or after school depending on gym and coach availability. Playing uniform is the student’s own school top and shorts/skort.
